Grounded Wine Co. "Landform" Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, 2022

Landform Willamette Valley Pinot Noir was crafted from a trifecta of Pinot Noir clones (Pommard, Wadenswil, and Dijon) grown at four sustainably and organically-farmed vineyards in the Eola-Amity Hills and Chehalem Mountain AVAs. A mild winter and wet, warm spring set the stage for the 2019 growing season. Ample rainfall in late June and early July, plus cool conditions, slowed growth and resulted in very gradual ripening. We harvested fruit under favorable conditions in late September, and the resulting wines from the cool season retained excellent fresh, natural acidity.

Landform Pinot Noir is a charming and nuanced expression of the variety. Aromatically, the wine is complex, with Bing cherry, loganberry, and spicy cola notes. In the mouth, there is superb freshness and vitality, with full-throttle red berry flavors, good texture and a generous finish.
