The Estate Argyros 1974 Santorini Vinsanto delivers a surprising level of freshness that comes from the quality of the fruit and from the wine's natural acidity. It's hard to know where to begin and end the descriptors. There are aromas of molasses, caramel toffee, cookie crumble, hazelnut paste and maple syrup. But you also get tart plum and persimmon.
