The close proximity of the infamous Laguna Seca raceway along with the rural feel of the area appealed to him being a small town farm boy from the midwest. After settling down and starting a family he was on to his next passionate endeavor - wine. The \"Submarine Canyon\" vineyard name is a geographical reference to this very deep bay. The vines are also grown on rocky, well-draining soils, that complete the ideal growing conditions for Pinot Noir. Vinified 15% whole cluster in Neutral French oak barrels, in a more modern Burgundian style, and made to taste like it too. Earthy red berry aromas followed by the same red fruit with hints of hibiscus tea, and mushroom-y umami.
