This wine's unique blend of Malbec and Merlot grapes, gives it a rich, smooth, fruit-driven style. Château Vieux Poirier is certified organic, which means no chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides - no chemicals of any kind in the vineyard or in the winery and of course natural, not artificial, yeasts for fermentation. You get pure fruit and terroir flavors, unmarred by chemical residues. This is more than rare in Bordeaux where the growing organic movement has been the slow to develop.
