Viña Pedrosa "El Pedrosal" Reserva Ribera del Duero, 2006

Bodegas Perez Pascuas is an example of a family owned cellar (three generations) that has always distinguished itself by maintaining an irreproachable personality in its wines year after year, while still respecting the terroir and history. The family has focused on quality from the cellar’s very beginnings, with much hard work and intense dedication. All grapes come from their own vineyards: 90% Tinta del País and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are located in Pedrosa de Duero in the D.O. Ribera del Duero, a town with a winemaking tradition that spans over a hundred years. The terrain is smooth and the soils are chalky-clay.  Aged 24 months in barrel, then 10 years in bottle before release. Intense and complex on the nose, with red fruit aromas, nuts, a slight toasted background, very clean and intense. In the mouth it’s alive and well-balanced. It’s now in a great moment for drinking, but should develop nicely for the next 8-10 years. A fresh, Atlantic wine that still shows youth.
