description
"Canuco" Pormenor was produced with a blend of typical grapes from, Douro region, planted in different locations, all over 450mts altitude, and age between 25 to 45 years old.
Canuco, means, in Portuguese, a "small child" so, the philosophy when doing this wine, is bringing to the bottle, grapes from younger vines from all the places we work and at the same time, transmiting the perspective, of a less complex wine, with round tannins, elegant fruit but keeping the freshness and elegance that all our wines have, keeping the sense of place and transmiting, what the Region has best to offer.
The grapes were picked in September due to the different maturation from each place, in order to keep a good acidity a moderate alcohol. After a careful selection at the sorting table, the grapes were gently pressed, a part with the whole cluster.
The fermentation was natural- spontaneous-in stainless steel vats with
indigenous yeasts, without any yeast addictions and short maceration.
Aged for a year in stainless steel and, a small part of the wine, in 2251ts very old french barrels untill bottling.
As per all our wines, minimum human intervention during the cellar work is achieved by avoiding any kind of additives.
