Cabernet Franc is a red grape variety widely grown in wine regions around the world, particularly in France's Loire Valley and Bordeaux, as well as in regions such as California, Italy, and Argentina. It, along with Sauvignon Blanc, is also famous for being siring the worlds most planted red grape, Cabernet Sauvignon.

Cabernet Franc wines typically have medium body, moderate tannins, and vibrant acidity, making them versatile for pairing with a variety of foods. In the Loire Valley it famously made in a few sub regions such as Chinon and Saumur Champigny. THese regions typically produce Cabernet Franc on the lighter end of the spectrum, While in Bordeaux it is typically used to add nuance to blends. In California and Argentina, when not blended with other grapes, it is typically made in a fuller bodied style.

Cabernet Franc's medium-bodied profile and vibrant acidity make it a versatile wine for pairing with a variety of foods, particularly those with herbal or savory flavors such as grilled chicken, grilled vegetables, and tomato and herb based dishes.
