Fun facts: The Horiot are one of the last families to produce the excellent Rosé des Riceys. They are the only ones bottling not one but two single vineyard expressions of it. En Barmont is a steep slope with heavy clay. The Sève Champagnes also come from this parcel. Olivier believes this rosé is the first single vineyard wine to be made from this site in over a century.

Appellation: Rosé des Riceys

Winemaking: 10% of the grapes are foot-trodden at the bottom of the cuve, then whole bunches are added. Semi-carbonic macerations usually last 5-6 days with pumping over twice a day. The wine is then racked into older barrels and remains there on the lees for many years before bottling. The wines are usually released five years after being harvested.
