Balmenach 2009 Connoisseurs Choice by Gordon & MacPhail is a rare 14-year-old single malt matured in a first-fill sherry hogshead. Bottled at a robust 61.4% ABV, this limited edition of just 322 bottles reveals toasted hazelnut aromas intertwined with sweet fruit cake and autumn spices. On the palate, bright orange zest gives way to red apple and a subtle chili spice, finishing with lingering notes of black currant and black pepper. A distinctive expression from a seldom-seen distillery, perfect for the discerning whisky enthusiast.
