'BUBBLES' CHAMPAGNE CLUB: This is your Club if you are a hound for the beautiful sparkly wines of our most beloved Champagne region. It is no secret that the Crew at The Wise Old Dog LOVES Champagne. Champagne is: fun to drink + DELICIOUS + rare + special + reason enough to celebrate…just POP the cork! Each month you will receive three bottles from our most beloved growers and friends from the Aube to the Côte des Blanc, Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and more. Invariably this Grower Champagne membership will prove as unexpected as it will delicious. A complete indulgence? Of course! But, then, our selection for this monthly love affair is something we just treasure. If I am honest, I would feel serious FOMO without this monthly routine... We need to drink more Champagne to better understand Champagne and why we need to drink more Champagne. See? Heehee. Don’t miss this one!

What are our Wine Clubs all about?

The Wise Old Dog Wine Club Subscription is a collaboration among our Staff members in Hartford and Litchfield in concert with our friends in the vineyards throughout the World in pursuit of special bottles to share with you. Throughout the year we relentlessly taste, study, review, and explore. Our Wine Club(s) is where we share this insider information. As a Member of our Wine Club(s), you enjoy the opportunity to ‘eat first’ and purchase otherwise very limited items prioritized for our subscribers.

What Club Subscriptions do you offer?

We have launched our new site with FOUR chief options:

'SUR LA TABLE' + 'VIN ROUGE' + 'VIN BLANC' + 'BUBBLES' ... While intentionally vague in title, these monthly collections (available in varied bottle quantities) speak directly to our relentless, daily work to seek, taste, and purchase some of the rarest, most authentic, handmade, usually organic, delicious wines in the world. In the ROUGE (RED) and BLANC (WHITE) Subscriptions, respectively, we will explore the full range of these respective broad categories including bottles to drink on a routine weeknight, bottles to cellar for a moment to gain a bit of complexity, bottles to *chill* down slightly (or all the way!) and enjoy with new (recommended) food pairings, and more. Our purpose is to find a delicious balance between that which is new and unexpected with that which is classic and represent World Class Examples of the winemaking today. In the 'SUR LA TABLE' (MIXED RED + WHITE), Members will enjoy a selection to include Red Wine and White Wine, usually still. In 'BUBBLES' we're pulling out the stops. Three classified Grower Champagnes every single month...do NOT miss it.

As a Member, what should I expect to receive, monthly?

TOP NOTCH WINE:

Included in all of our Memberships, you can expect (of course) really good wine hand-selected by our Team. 

EXCLUSIVE ACCESS: 

You can often expect exclusive access (much of what we fall in love with comes to us in very limited quantities and we will be purchasing for our Club Members, often, first. Thus, if we can secure only a set bottle quantity, we anticipate restricting the sale of these bottles to Club Members only.

REMARKABLE PRICING AND VALUE:

Relying on Members like you, we have the chance to buy special items for our Club Members with confidence, and, in quantity. Thus, we buy together, with you, and fill your boxes each month with delicious bottles that transcend the cost of your monthly membership.

MUSINGS + RECIPES:

We buy and drink wines for our own Cellars and Tables in context…this context includes wines and regions and winemakers we’re studying…this context includes what suppers we’re cooking (or ordering for carryout!) and want to serve with these wines…and, of course, this context includes and reflects our own ongoing knowledge, questions, discoveries, and more… We will share these with you and include some light reading to accompany your monthly subscription.

Do I need to live locally to join?

No! Our Members live as close as up the road in Hartford or Litchfield Counties and as far away as across the country. When you join, you’ll have the opportunity to choose whether you’d like Curbside Pickup OR Local Delivery OR National Shipping. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Who selects the Monthly Bottles?

Our Staff, if we haven’t met, is a deliciously close group of friends (and professionals!). Think of our Wine Clubs as your closest monthly insight into us as Individuals and a Team. We share our fresh favorites, musings, recipes, personal anecdotes, and questions. In sum, we buy as a Team just for you. And, if we don’t yet know each other, we are pleased to make your acquaintance!

What is my Member Commitment to The Wise Old Dog look like? Can I cancel at anytime?

Our Wine Clubs function like any subscription service; each month your preferred payment method will be charged. If you'd like to cancel, be sure to get a hold of us 30 days prior to when you'd like to pause your Membership.

When I really love bottles included in my subscription, can I get more?

Sometimes. While we work relentlessly to ensure continuity throughout our Shops and Programming and Subscriptions, wine is an agricultural product and is finite in quantity. While we avoid “FOMO” discussions, many times over, “when it’s gone it’s gone” is painfully true!

If I have questions about bottles included in my subscription, can I send them to you?

Of course! And, we hope you do. Just like all of our beloved clients and friends, whenever you come across a bottle (whether in your Member Box or from our shelves) and have a thought, an inspiration, a recipe, a question…we truly look forward to hearing from you. Do not hesitate to call, write, or send up a smoke signal. We are here!

I love the idea of subscribing to a monthly membership with you and your Team but had a different idea in mind (Eg. I am building a wine cellar and am looking, exclusively, for age-worthy wine to begin filling it up…), can you help me?

Custom and Bespoke Curation is what The Wise Old Dog is all about. While we encourage you, completely, to join our existing Clubs, we are also at your disposal to discuss Custom Monthly Tailoring to be sure we meet your needs (and wants!) just perfectly.

As a Member, may I select the wines included, each month?

Trust us! In short, as a Member, one of the chief bits of fun and value is that you trust us to create something delicious (and often something that you haven’t thought of)...let us take best care of you…we promise that your Monthly Box will make you smile.
