Tequila Amatitena Barrancas is a blanco that takes the familiar foundation of Agave tequilana Weber Azul and reframes it through the unusual inclusion of fruit during distillation, resulting in a profile that feels both rooted and exploratory. The nose opens with bright cooked agave and fresh citrus, quickly joined by a lifted, natural fruitiness that suggests orchard fruit and subtle tropical tones rather than overt sweetness, alongside hints of herbal freshness and light pepper. On the palate, the agave core remains clear and structured, delivering notes of sweet roasted agave, lime zest, and saline minerality, while the fruit integration adds a rounded, aromatic dimension that softens the edges and brings a gentle juiciness to the midpalate. Its progeny is still evident in classic tequila markers such as pepper, citrus, and brine, yet these elements are refracted through the fruit, creating a more perfumed and slightly unconventional expression. The finish is clean and medium in length, with lingering agave sweetness, a touch of spice, and a delicate echo of fruit that feels integrated rather than imposed.
