This wine is made of 100% Barbera. This is one of our most favorite wines. A unique balance of power, elegance, textbook varietal notes, and yet, remarkably integrated silky tannins. Delicious. Pair it with a grilled beef kebab, pasta all'Amatriciana, or a savory mushroom risotto. This beautiful expression of Barbera is from Bussia, Monforte's most prestigious cru. Unlike traditional maceration times for Barbera, winemaker Silvano Bolmida leaves his wine on the skins for 135 days, and then into old French barriques for a rich but subtle explosion of flavor. The wine is reminiscent of raspberries coated in chocolate with an ultra-fine grip of tannin. Quality, typicity, and value.

The desire is to work with one of the most historic vines of the Langhe and produce a wine that not only speaks for the land and the territory but also where cleanliness and elegance are put first."
