This wine is 100% Riesling crafted from estate vines planted in 1965.  An astonishing example of what old vine Riesling can achieve, this bottling sees six years of bottle aging before release and will reward further aging as well. In typical fashion for Australia, this Riesling is bursting with citrus notes, petroleum and honied notes. Pair with tofu pad thai or loaded nachos.

Details

The Contours Riesling is crafted from old vines grown on the coolest slope within this ruggedly beautiful single vineyard. Bottle ageing for five years before release transforms this Riesling into a complex wine. More richness and complexity will develop over future decades.
-VINTAGE CONDITIONS
A dry winter and dry, warm spring meant the vines got
away to an early start and set a good amount of bunches.
Warm December and mild January weather was also
conducive to good flavour accumulation in the grapes.
Some rain at the end of January provided welcome
refreshment. The higher than average diurnal variation,
so important to Eden Valley and to Riesling, allowed the
vines to rest each night and retain the fine flavours and
natural acidity in this wine
