Jacky Blot (RIP 2023) is one of the truly great producers of Loire Valley red wine. Here, a deep(er) dive with a delicious conclusion.

50/50 organic blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay sourced from Marfarm vineyard in Edna Valley. A coastal aromatic profile: wild strawberry, rose petal, and crushed melon layered with a faint citrus peel brightness and a subtle saline edge. On the palate, it shows a fuller, more textural style for rosé, with a gently creamy mid-weight feel balanced by vibrant acidity, carrying flavors of ripe red berries, stone fruit, and a touch of stony minerality into a clean, persistent finish. Crafted primarily from Grenache, this expression leans both elegant and slightly savory, reflecting its maritime origin and low-intervention approach. Pair with Niçoise salad, or prosciutto with melon; the wine’s balance of fruit, acidity, and subtle salinity also complements Mediterranean flavors, light pasta, and soft cheeses.
