This wine is made of 100% Khikhvi. Sharp and opulent, this amber wine is dry, with bright citrus and starfruit flavors. High in acid and minerality and may remind you of a sharp Cheverny Blanc or Loire Valley White, with some tannin. Khikhvi is great to pair with rich and flavorful foods, like barbecue ribs, bratwurst with grilled veggies, or a spicy sausage and mushroom risotto. Khikhvi is one of the wildest Georgian grapes, and must be tamed for its power to shine in the glass, which Anapea Village has done here nicely.

From our Importer: A varietal that is wild and 'loves freedom,' ​Khikhvi is Khatia's favorite grape. It brings power and opulence but is tempered by Khatia's deft hand in the cellar. 6 months on skins in qvevri with an additional 6 months of aging in a cooler set of qvevri. Unfined and unfiltered. Bottled with minimal sulfur as necessary.
