Cascina Val del Prete Nebbiolo d’Alba 2023 offers a bright garnet hue and a classic Piedmontese Nebbiolo profile, with an expressive bouquet of violet blossoms, dark cherry, and subtle spice leading into savory hints of pepper and eucalyptus. On the palate, expect vibrant acidity balanced by medium tannins, showcasing flavors of dried cherry, rose petal, and earth-tinged herbs, making it both elegant and food-friendly. Pair this wine with braised short ribs with polenta, mushroom risotto, or aged Italian cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano or Pecorino; the acidity and nuanced tannic structure will beautifully complement rich, umami-driven dishes.

Variety: 100 % Nebbiolo

Soil: clay-calcareous with sand veins, alkaline pH

Exposure: east-west

Altitude: 250m asl

Training system: vertical trellis

Pruning: Guyot

Crop density: 5,000 vines per ha

Harvest: manual in early to mid-October

Vinification: alcoholic fermentation and skins contact maceration for 25-30 days, malolactic fermentation

Aging: 12 months in 25 hl oak barrels and 6 months in bottle

Bottles per year: 5,000

Food airings: red and white meats
