This wine is made of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Sémillon. Château Carbonnieux Blanc is a legendary wine. In the 18th century, it was introduced to the Sultan of Constantinople, and called "mineral water from Carbonnieux", in direct defiance of Islamic law. This wine stands up to its reputation, with an intriguing nose of petrol and lemongrass and a palate of lemon, lime, mint, and almond. We would pair this with a sweet corn risotto topped with grilled prawns.

From the winery: Château Carbonnieux white is a legendary wine. It is said that in the 18th century it entered the Sultan of Constantinople, thanks to its great clarity, under the name “Eau minéral de Carbonnieux”, thus defying Koranic law.

The clay-limestone terroirs of Garonne gravel located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation undoubtedly produce the best dry white wines in the Bordeaux region. Young, the Carbonnieux whites charm with their freshness, purity and aromatic intensity that is both fruity and floral. When aged, they develop notes of dried and candied fruits that offer a wide range of gastronomic pairings. The batches that will enter this classified growth will be assembled in such a way as to induce a beautiful complicity between the grape varieties. The selected Sémillons will structure the liveliness of the Sauvignons by bringing roundness and volume in the mouth.
