This wine is 100% Pinot Noir from the Sandford & Benedict Vineyard in California. Here comes the old vine Pinot Noir magic, planted in 1971 these vines bring a depth of flavor a minerality to this lovely bottling. Loaded with classic American red fruit like raspberry and strawberry backed up with crisp minerality. This wine is built for the cellar but will also compliment your favorite salmon dishes after a quick decant.

Details

Planted in 1971, Sanford & Benedict is the most storied vineyard we work with. Its unique combination of rocky soils and cool climate makes dark and brooding wines that still have elegance and minerality.

These grapes were harvested on September 8th, 11th, 20th, 21th, 27th and 28th at an average of 23.1 brix. The grapes underwent a four-day cold soak with 1-3 punch downs by hand daily. Once dry, the wine was pressed and put into French oak barrels (18% new) where it stayed for 16 months before being racked and bottles unfiltered in February 2023.
