This wine is 100% Gamay from the Cru of Fleurie in Beaujolais. Made in the 'vin naturel' style, this is a light red made with as little human influence as possible. Fresh, earthy and loaded with your typical Fleurie notes of violets and red fruit this wine is a stunning replacement for your favorite red Burgundy. Pair with beef tenderloin or salmon.

Details

Located to the south-east of the Fleurie vineyard, the soils are mainly sandy or loamy-sandy, from primary rocks (granites) or old alluvium, with a sometimes very stony cover and a shallow to medium depth.

Vines Aged from 40 to more than 80 years old, the Gamay Noir vines are planted at a density of around 10,000 vines/ha, and pruned into goblet shapes. The vegetation is grown quite high. The soils are worked.

Manual harvest in small boxes, sorting in the cellar. Maceration of the entire harvest in concrete vats under temperature control. Neither yeasting nor chaptalization. No punching down, light daily pumping over. Short vatting (8 days).
