This wine is made of 100% Pinot Noir, from the Côtes de Toul, a region nearby Alsace in the northeast of France. The Côtes de Toul is a wine region that has seen new life since being ravaged during WWII. Large-scale planting resumed in the region in the 1960's and the world is beginning to catch on to the potential of these wines. This is a fresher style of Pinot with notes of bright red berries vibrant acidity and super soft tannins, all trademarks of the cooler northeastern French climate. Enjoy this with crispy lemon pepper wings.

Details

From the winery: The grapes that compose it come from the south-facing hillsides, protected from the prevailing westerly winds. After a manual harvest, the maceration will last about ten days. The alcoholic fermentation in the fall and the malolactic fermentation in the spring take place in stainless steel vats under temperature control. The wines are then aged for 6 months in vats before bottling.

Since taking over Maison Lelièvre, we have replanted a lot of Pinot Noir, taking care to select quality plants in Burgundy and choosing well-exposed plots on well-drained soils.

We pay particular attention to the vinification of this color in the AOC Côtes de Toul, proof that the Lorraine terroir is capable of producing great wines.

This Pinot Noir Lelièvre is proof that the Côtes de Toul are capable of producing lovely red wines.
