This wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo. We would pair it with lamb chops seasoned with corriander, cumin, turmeric and oregano. Ghemme is a small town in northeastern Piedmont known for producing delicious Nebbiolo based wines. The wines are all dry and are characterized by their depth and age-worthiness due to high tannins and acidity.

From the winery: Every self-respecting family has its forefather, for the Platinetti Guido Agricultural Company it is undoubtedly the Ghemme DOCG Vigna Ronco Maso.

Despite the specification allowing the addition of up to 15% of Vespolina or Bonarda, Platinetti's Ghemme DOCG is the result solely of the main vine of these lands, Nebbiolo, in particular only the best bunches of Ronco Maso, those of the highest range called "the mirror".

Traditionally these few selected rows are left last during the harvest in order to bring the grapes to their complete maturation on the vine.

The refinement continues for two years in large oak barrels, to be completed with six months in the bottle before being put on the market. After opening, always recommended at least an hour before tasting, this Nebbiolo exalts the taste with its freshness and salinity on the nose and conquers the palate thanks to the crunchy fruit of its youth enriched, with long aging, with intriguing notes of liquorice and tobacco. A glass where we find the secret formula of every great wine, that delicate balance between elegance, freshness and power that makes it extremely enjoyable and gastronomic.

Only in years deemed suitable is Ghemme Vigna Ronco al Maso Riserva produced,where a careful selection of the grapes is followed by a maceration phase on the skins lasting up to 40 days and refinement in Slavonian oak barrels with a capacity of 30 hl for a minimum period of 30 months, followed by rest in the bottle in special cool, dark rooms for at least 9 months
