This wine is made from 100% Petit Verdot in the middle of Entre-Deux-Mers. It is a powerful wine, rich in dark fruit and big tannins, not softened by any oak. But the wine's fruit is incredibly fresh due to its being aged in stainless steel. We would enjoy it with slow-cooked ribs, marinated in soy, hoisin, and 5-spice.

From our Importer: Established as a winemaking property back in 1790, Château L’Orangerie has kept up a rich winemaking tradition, now going back thru 8 generations of the Icard family. Sitting in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers, south of the town of Bordeaux, it is uniquely situated to produce great Red, White and Rose wines.

Their 250 acres consist mainly of chalk and clay over a sandy clay subsoil. Sustainable agriculture is practiced throughout the property and they benefit from a most up to date winery.
