Sunday Night Supper: A Study of Slope
Jacky Blot (RIP 2023) is one of the truly great producers of Loire Valley red wine. Here, a deep(er) dive with a delicious conclusion.

A blend of more than 14 different grape varieties, incorporating both white and red grapes, from Alto Adige. An expressive, multi-varietal field blend that captures the diversity of Alto Adige in a vibrant, contemporary style. Pale straw in colour, it opens with aromas of white flowers, citrus zest, ripe pear and stone fruit, layered with subtle herbal notes and a hint of salinity. The palate is fresh, medium-bodied and textural, balancing lively acidity with delicate phenolic grip, mineral tension and a long, juicy finish. Versatile and food-friendly, it is an excellent match for oysters, crudo, sushi and grilled seafood, while also pairing beautifully with seasonal vegetable dishes, fresh goat's cheese, lemon-herb roast chicken or light pasta with spring vegetables. Serve lightly chilled (12–14°C) and enjoy young to capture its vibrant freshness.
