This traditional method, vintage dated sparkling wine is 50% Macabeu, 30% Xarel-lo and 20% Parellada. The grapes for this wine are grown on a variety of different soil types in an effort to show an overall snapshot of Penedès terroir. The Macabeu is grown on calcareous, gravel and limestone soils in different plots located in the Massís del Garraf and the foothills of the d’Ordal mountains. The Xarel.lo is grown on clay-calcareous and alluvial soils in the Conca del Riu Anoia. Lastly, the Parellada is grown on sandstone soils in the Serra d’Ancosa at almost 700 meters above sea level. Primary fermentation is in stainless steel using natural yeasts, and then aged sur lie for a minimum of 20 months and bottled with zero dosage. Disgorgement date listed on the back label.

From the producer: Traditional method
Minimum maturing of 24 months. The 32 plots where the grapes of this wine are grown make up a mosaic that expresses the singularity of the different Penedès subzones and the varieties that belong to each. Fourteen plots of Macabeu located in Costers de l’Ordal and the Garraf Massif in vineyards of calcareous, gravel and limestone soils. The Xarel·lo grapes come from six plots located in the subzone of the Anoia River Basin, with vineyards planted in calcareous clays and pebbles.

From our importer: The grapes were harvested by hand and pressed, then fermented by parcel in stainless steel tanks until dry. Malolactic fermentation is blocked, and the wine is bottled to age on its lees for 24-36 months and vinified in the traditional method as a brut nature wine. Disgorgement date is always listed on the back label.
