Garnacha Blanca (Grenache Blanc) and Viura. A textured, skin-contact white with a beautiful golden amber color and plenty of character. Aromas of ripe apricot, orange peel, chamomile, and wild herbs lead into a palate that is savory, fresh, and lightly grippy from time on the skins. The wine has a lovely balance of fruit, gentle tannin, and bright acidity, finishing with notes of citrus, dried flowers, and a touch of minerality. It’s a versatile bottle that works especially well with grilled fish, roasted chicken, Moroccan or Middle Eastern dishes, aged cheeses, charcuterie, and vegetable dishes with warm spices like saffron, cumin, or turmeric.

Details

From the Winery: Azul y Garanza's skin contact white is Naturaleza Salvaje Blanco (formerly labeled Salvaje White in some markets). It's a 100% Garnacha Blanca that spends about five days fermenting on the skins, then ages for six months in amphora before bottling with minimal sulfur and no filtration. The winery describes it as part of its Wild Nature range, wines made from organically and regeneratively farmed vineyards on the edge of Spain's Bardenas Reales desert in Navarra. The idea is to let the vineyard speak for itself through native yeast fermentation, skin contact, concrete and amphora aging, and as little intervention as possible.
