100% Chenin Blanc. A refined traditional-method sparkling wine, offering fine, creamy bubbles with aromas of pear, white flowers, almond, candied lemon, and subtle saline and smoky notes. The palate is taut yet rounded, with impressive texture, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral, savory finish. Aged for approximately four years on its lees with a remarkably low dosage of around 1.3 g/L, it combines Chenin’s natural freshness with the depth and patina of extended lees aging. Pair with oysters, scallops, smoked salmon, shellfish, fried seafood, fresh goat cheese, or as an elegant aperitif.

Details

Domaine du Clos Naudin is one of Vouvray’s benchmark estates, with Philippe Foreau taking over the family domaine in 1983 as its third generation and his son Vincent subsequently joining the estate. The roughly 12-hectare property is devoted almost entirely to Chenin Blanc, planted on the characteristic clay-silica, flint, and limestone soils of Vouvray. Foreau is celebrated for wines of remarkable longevity, purity, and tension, and his traditional-method sparkling wines receive the same meticulous attention as his still Vouvrays. The estate works with indigenous fermentation and a low-intervention philosophy, allowing the character of the vintage and Vouvray terroir to come through clearly.
