Famille Garon's flagship wine, made from 100% Syrah. This cuvée is from selected plots in the Côte Blonde half of Côte-Rôtie, which is dominated by granite soils. The resulting wines are perfumed and elegant, with fresh black and red fruit character. Although the appellation permits a small percentage of Viognier, Garon has opted for this cuvée to be completely Syrah to maintain as much structure as they can for an already delicate wine. The nose is absolutely captivating, with aromas of baked cherry pie, violets, and black plums, and very well integrated French Oak. Pair this with a grilled bone-in pork chop, served with roasted potatoes and green beans.

From the winery: Our story begins in 1485, with the birth of Jean Garon, a winegrower in Ampuis. Since then, our family has never left the heart of the Côte-Rôtie vineyards. Generation after generation, we have adapted to the changing times, sometimes livestock farmers, sometimes crop farmers, always attached to these legendary slopes.

In the 1980s, Jean-François and Carmen Garon took on a bold challenge: to revitalize the estate's abandoned terraces. They began by replanting the historic La Triote vineyard, then, in 1987, the Lancement vineyard. For years, between raising livestock and cultivating vines, they sold their grapes to local wine merchants. But in 1995, after promising trials in 1993 and 1994, they reached a decisive milestone: the first bottle of Côte-Rôtie was produced. A new chapter began.

In 2000, their sons, Kévin and Fabien, joined the estate after studying oenology in Burgundy and Beaujolais. Together, they officially founded Domaine Garon in 2003, with 2 hectares of vines in Côte-Rôtie. That same year, they launched the Côte-Rôtie Les Rochins cuvée , made from grapes grown in brown schist soils. The estate's story began a new chapter.
