Fratelli Alessandria "San Lorenzo di Verduno" Barolo DOCG, 2018
Fratelli Alessandria "San Lorenzo di Verduno" Barolo DOCG, 2018
From the Winery: San Lorenzo is a hill in Verduno next to that of Monvigliero, with the same type of soil, but slightly less elevated and not quite so steep. The wine that originates here is considered finer and more “feminine”. A very complex and balanced Barolo that brings out the typical floral sensations of the Nebbiolo grape. The palate is elegant and harmonious with tannins that are usually quite sweet and smooth.
New leather, pressed rose and camphor aromas mingle in the glass together with hints of truffle. Full-bodied and youthfully austere, the firm palate shows sour cherry, white pepper, coffee bean and dried botanical herbs set against a backbone of fine-grained tannins. -Kerin O’Keefe The Wine Advocate
