This wine is made of 80% Gamay and 20% Pinot Noir. Direct pressed and aged in stainless steel on its lees for around 4 months, this rosé is bright and dry with nice texture. A floral nose and round palate full of fresh strawberries best characterizes the flagship wine of the once forgotten Côtes de Toul, which had been ravaged during World War I. Pairings are endless with this wine, but we'd suggest a charcuterie with dry salami like saucisson sec and sweet coppa (capicola), an aged gouda, a soft and tangy chèvre, and your favorite petit toasts OR a roast chicken over a bed of sautéed potatoes and leeks. Of course, if food isn't on the menu, sipping on the porch with a warm sunset will do just fine!

Details

From the Winemaker: This wine is produced in 8 villages around Toul: Lucey, Bruley, Pagney-Derrière-Barrine, Domgermain, Charme-La-Côte, Mont-Le-Vignoble, Blénod-Les-Toul et Bulligny. The AOC Côtes de Toul (wine from a controlled origin) represents an area 500 hectares (1235 acres) of which 120 hectares are already cultivated. The sandy clay soils are interspersed between two limestone strata: the underground layer has blocked the flow of the Moselle towards the Meuse, the other forms a plateau at the top of the hills. In crumbling, it affords
good soil drainage. The cuesta relief protects the vineyards from the prevailing winds from the west and offers a variety of exposures to the sun.

Some geographical facts:
Latitude : 48.7238018 / Longitude : 5.8433457
The LELIEVRE family hails from the village of Lucey in the northern part of the Côtes de Toul ; their vineyards are situated on the territory of four villages: Lucey, Bruley, Blénod-lès-Toul and Bulligny. The various types of terroir and the uniformity of the climate allow for the production of a wide variety of wines that enter into different blends. All of our grapes are harvested manually at maturity and then are pressed pneumatically in Lucey. Our thermoregulated cellar houses all the stages of the wine-making, and all our wines are bottled here at the Domaine. This is also where we welcome our professional and individual customers.
