Sunday Night Supper: A Study of Slope
Jacky Blot (RIP 2023) is one of the truly great producers of Loire Valley red wine. Here, a deep(er) dive with a delicious conclusion.

This wine is made from 100% Trebbiano. We would enjoy it with a freshly grilled swordfish steak topped with a roasted tomatillo and mango salsa. The grapes undergo 8 months of maceration in amphora or tïn, "clay" in Arabic. As a result, this is a skin-contact wine with tons of richness and flavor. Notes of ruby grapefruit, mango, honey, and sharp minerality best characterize the wine.
