GRAPE VARIETY Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault. VINEYARD At the entrance of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, an 16th century Priory nestled in greenery houses our underground cellars. Winemaker Edouard Guérin crafts expressive, energetic wines with passion and expertise. Since 2008, the vineyard has followed organic practices, using natural fertilizers and tailored methods, such as adaptive pruning, plant cover seeding, and agroforestry, to nurture soil life and vine balance.
TYPE OF SOIL Limestone fragments, rolled pebbles, sandy sails and red sandstones
VINIFICATION Some grapes are vini ed in whole bunches, with the proportion of stalks retained ranging from 10–15% to over 60% in the nest vintages. Co-fermentation enhances complexity through varietal synergy. Fermentations begin at 19–20°C, rise to 25°C, and nish between 28–32°C. Gentle extraction—via small pump-overs and submerged cap maceration—favors soft tannins through infusion rather than mechanical force. AGEING The wine is aged for 12 months in truncated French oak vats, followed by 8 months in concrete tanks.
VINTAGE REPORT In 2023, despite widespread heat and drought in France, Châteauneuf-du-Pape was relatively spared thanks to timely rain in May and June. A record heatwave in August was followed by ideal September weather, allowing the vines to thrive without stress. The result is a balanced, delicate vintage, reminiscent of the excellent 2020.
