This wine presents a beautiful and layered aromatic profile, starting with the bright and fresh notes of lemon zest, followed by the crisp sweetness of Honeycrisp apple. The presence of delicate white flowers adds a touch of elegance and floral complexity. On the finish, there’s a subtle yet distinct minerality paired with a saline character, creating a sense of depth and texture. The wine captures the essence of its volcanic Eola-Amity Hills terroir, alongside the concentrated intensity of old vines from Hyland Vineyard. The marine sedimentary influence from Freedom Hill brings a unique power and structure to the wine. With only 1,000 cases made, this wine feels special and refined, showcasing a balance of elegance and strength from its diverse vineyard sources. This wine will pair perfectly with roast chicken, crab and butter gnocchi, and aged cheeses.

From the Winery: We passionately believe in Willamette Valley Chardonnay. This noble grape has the ability to capture the essence of our region’s rich geological tapestry, seamlessly intertwining terroir with winemaking technique. With thoughtful farming and intentional cellar practices, we allow Chardonnay to express its incredible potential, just as Pinot Noir does.

Translating to 'The Green Fault' or 'The Green Valley,' La Combe Verte pays homage to the lush landscapes of the Willamette Valley and our cherished friends at Patricia Green Cellars, the incubator for the fledgeling Walter Scott first vintage.

The 2023 La Combe Verte blends elegant, volcanic Eola-Amity sites, the old vine intensity of Hyland Vineyard and the powerful, marine sedimentary expression of Freedom Hill.
