This wine is made of 100% Chenin Blanc. Fermented with native yeasts, minimal sulfur addition and zero fining or filtration. Oily, nutty, jammy and reminiscent of candied orange peel, this Chenin is full of complex flavors, richness, and structure. We would pair this with the difficult asparagus dressed in beurre blanc.

From our Importer: Les Vins de la Gabare is a collaboration between Les Caves de Pyrene, Nicolas Reau and local growers. The idea behind this project is to create excellent value wines, from organically-farmed grapes and as naturally as possible, wines that faithfully reflect the place they come from.

“Gabare” is a flat-bottomed barge or sailing scow (it can have masts on it), the type often seen on the Loire and other French rivers.
