This wine is 100% Gaglioppo from selected old vine parcels in Calabria. A medium bodied and spicy wine fresh with raspberry, clove, tar, Morello cherry, and tobacco. A perfect pairing with all things red meat.

Details

From the Importer:
Varietal: 100% Gaglioppo Appellation: Cirò DOC
Vineyard: Piciara and Plane of Franze (2 hectares)
Soils: Clay Limestone and red sand
Winemaking: The wine is destemmed and crushed immediately. Maceration and fermentation in cement tanks without temperature control.
Maturation: On lees for 6 months in concrete tank followed by a further 12 month in concrete and then the wine is bottle aged at least 6 months.
