Brovia 'Vignavillej' Dolcetto d'Alba DOC, 2023

Regular price $26.00

100% Organic Dolcetto. Brovia's Dolcetto d'Alba comes from clay-limestone soils on the prime Langhe slopes of Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d'Alba, with vines planted in 1981 and 1993. Complex and intense, this wine drinks beautifully now, this handcrafted treasure is perfect to drink while waiting for your Baroli to mature downstairs...and, yet, like many lovely wines of this level of vine age and craft, ages gracefully for at least a decade. Dark cherry, blueberry, and licorice. Aged in steel, it features vibrant acidity, firm, fine-grained tannins, and a classic, dry, bitter almond finish. Simply CHARMING wine. Pair with roasted chicken, homemade Roman Style pasta cacio e pepe, or simple mushroom risotto with sweet fennel sausage and braised greens.

Details

Brovia's Dolcetto is harvested from classic clay-limestone soils on prime Langhe slopes of Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba, some planted in 1981 and the other portion in 1993. The grapes are crushed and fermented in stainless steel at 29 degrees Celsius for a period of a week to 10 days, then aged in stainless steel for seven to nine months before the bottling (unfiltered).
