This wine is made of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Merlot. This is a classic bistro wine, brimming with bright acidity, juicy red fruit, and soft earthy tannins. It is fresh, easily drinkable, all while being representative of its terroir. Pair it with rigatoni alla bolognese, or a juicy ribeye with roasted veggies and fingerling potatoes. Il Ghizzano is located in Chianti's Colline Pisane region, and is both high in altitude and close to the ocean. This allows the grapes to ripen to their best, while maintaining mouthwatering acidity and a slight salinity. This wine is highlighted by notes of tart cherry and wild strawberry, with a tomato leaf herbaceousness.

From the winery: THE VENEROSI PESCIOLINI FAMILY AND THE VILLAGE OF GHIZZANO: The origins of the Venerosi Pesciolini family are very ancient, their first ancestor dates back to the Carolingian era. The first certain news about the Venerosi, in fact, dates back to the year 830 AD, which according to “Repetti” settled in Ghizzano, towards the end of the 14th century.

The ancient country residence is now a residential Villa and is the headquarters of our Company.

The garden of the Villa is a typical Italian Garden in late-Renaissance classical style.
