From our Supplier: Founded on the old-world principle to clearly express the soils of their provenance, Potek’s single vineyard bottlings harness the most carefully selected, fascinating grapes of the Santa Barbara coastline.

At his winemaking facility in downtown Santa Barbara, winemaker/proprietor David Potter makes his wines with grapes sourced from some of the most interesting and pioneering vineyards in Santa Barbara County. The wines are made in a minimalist style that emphasizes freshness. A small, organically farmed vineyard, the Kimsey vineyard is in the Ballard Canyon appellation of Santa Barbara county. The fruit comes from a Massal clone block which has seven different clones interplanted sequentially. This makes for striking energy and complexity as each clone adds its own personality to the final wine. The wine is aged two years in used French oak. Ballard Canyon is renowned for some of Santa Barbara's best Syrah vineyards and this bottling is proof. 155 cases produced.
