This wine is made of 88% Clairette, 10% Roussanne, and 2% Grenache Blanc. An aromatic and structured Rhône blend with lots of freshness. We would pair this with a caprese salad with fresh tomatoes and basil. Via Caritatis has rich history, dating back to 1309 when the first pontifical vineyard was planted by Clement V. The Benedictine monks and nuns of Le Barroux Abbeys have taken responsibility for the working the vineyard in Ventoux, and make incredible Rhone valley wines with centuries of inspiration.

Monks and Winegrowers of the Mountain, we have in common that we are men of Listening.

In our lands, a mysterious voice enchants hearts with its serene melody and its secret charm: a call to generosity, authenticity, kindness and freshness of soul...
By playing on the fresh and spontaneously generous terroirs of our vineyard, we have “composed” our Caritas Caritatis wines like music that will carry the echo of this mountainous and Provençal voice to your heart.

The selected plots have in common the freshness linked to our mountainous location and a very generous sunshine. The “southern” terroir of the Annonciation in the Clos des soeurs, with deep clay-limestone soil, planted with old Clairettes, brings a beautiful aromatic power. The St Vincent terroir, located at the bottom of the hill of the monks, with sandy-silty soil, is planted with younger Clairettes for freshness and acidity. The clay-sandy terroir of Ste Thérèse allows the Roussannes des moines to develop all their aromatic power and their ample structure.

On a terroir on the slopes of Ventoux, the winegrowers' Clairettes flourish in the sun, in generous clays.

Beyond all the labels, "Garde et Service" of creation are the two axes of our conscientious cultural approach, to allow our vines and all Provençal crops to bear fruit in their time: today...and tomorrow. The favorable micro-climate and the mistral of Provence very naturally purifying our vineyard are precious assets in this approach. Controlled yields according to the potential of the different plots depending on the grape variety, the rootstock, the age of the vines, their planting density.
