The Mitchell family’s Campbeltown distilleries—Springbank, Kilkerran, and Longrow—represent a rare, fully hands-on approach to Scotch whisky production, with nearly every stage done on site at Springbank Distillery. Springbank is the flagship, producing a lightly peated, oily, and complex spirit that showcases traditional methods like floor malting and partial triple distillation. Kilkerran, produced at the revived Glengyle Distillery, offers a slightly more modern expression while still emphasizing balance, coastal character, and subtle peat influence. Longrow, originally created as a peated style of Springbank, is now a distinct label known for its heavily smoky, robust profile that still carries Campbeltown’s signature maritime depth and texture. Together, the three whiskies form a cohesive expression of Campbeltown’s old-world whisky tradition, each highlighting a different facet of the region’s character.
